Joining our association means joining a collective adventure, driven by the enthusiasm and energy of passionate volunteers. Each activity offered is thought out, prepared and led in a spirit of sharing and conviviality. Motorcycle riding within the AMA is based on strong values: self-management, solidarity and mutual aid. Thus, becoming a member of the AMA is much more than participating in activities: it is also getting involved, at your own pace and according to your desires, to keep the association alive.
Everyone, with their talents and energy, contributes to growing our community and preventing operations from relying on a small number of people. These internal regulations are established in accordance with Article 15 of the statutes of the Association Motocycliste Alternative (A.M.A.), declared in the Prefecture and whose registered office is located at: 11 rue Trigance, 13002 MARSEILLE.
The purpose of this regulation is to specify and complete the rules of internal functioning, organization of activities and collective life. It is accessible at any time on the official website of the association: ama-moto.com. The following articles aim to guarantee a harmonious community life, while respecting our values: conviviality, sharing the passion for motorcycling, inclusion and commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Before membership is validated, a friendly exchange is organized with a member of the office and/or a delegate, in order to ensure that the interested person shares the values of the AMA and understands how it works. To join, simply complete a “member form” and choose your delegation. If personal information changes, this sheet must be updated. The annual subscription can be paid once the statutes and internal regulations have been read and accepted. Membership becomes effective when the tresorerie confirms receipt of payment of the contribution. To renew your membership, simply check that your form is up to date, then pay the annual fee, always after having confirmed reading and acceptance of the statutes and internal regulations. Contributions paid to the AMA are definitively acquired. In the event of termination of membership, whether by the member or the association, no reimbursement can be made for the remaining period.
The AMA has taken out collective civil liability insurance as well as legal assistance with the SMACL, the guarantees of which can be consulted on request sent to the office. Civil liability insurance protects members in the event of accidental damage occurring during the association's activities, excluding the use of their vehicle. Only people registered on the AMA website as participants in events on the association's agenda benefit from this coverage. It is important to note that this insurance does not replace the compulsory insurance that each rider must have for his motorcycle and his passenger. In the event of a disaster, WADA cannot be held responsible. Each member, as well as their beneficiaries, agrees not to take legal action against the association for any damage, litigation, injury or death that may occur. Furthermore, each participant remains fully responsible for the good condition of their vehicle and safety equipment during the activities offered by the AMA. The office and delegates can meet at the start of the year, in person, in order to plan together the activities for the coming year and to then inform all members. To enrich these proposals, delegates have a dedicated budget to organize local events. This aid, although limited, is intended to support activities in compliance with current legislation and respectful of the association's statutes. In order to guarantee everyone's safety, we would like to remind you that under no circumstances can these funds be used to finance substances that could impair driving ability. Finally, each member has the possibility of proposing an activity to their regional delegate. To do this, simply present your project, in order to be supported in its preparation and to allow its publication on the delegation's agenda.
Members wishing to specify their participation in an event on the AMA agenda are invited to go to the ama-moto.com website to confirm their presence or report their absence at the activity of their choice. Each activity has a registration deadline. After this period, any new request must be submitted for approval to the event organizer. When the number of places is limited, a waiting list may be set up. People on this list will be contacted in chronological order if places become available following withdrawals.
The organizer or office reserves the right to modify or cancel all or part of an event in the event of force majeure or for security reasons.
• In the event of cancellation by the organizer or the office, any deposit paid will be fully refunded.
• In the event of cancellation by the participant, it is important to note that events including accommodation, meals or other services (e.g.: VVF, lodgings, hotels, restaurants, tourist residences, etc.) are linked to a contract between the AMA and its service providers. Consequently, the association applies the cancellation conditions set by these service providers: no reimbursement can be made by the AMA for costs that the association could not itself recover. The precise cancellation terms specific to each event will be indicated on the registration form, which must be dated and signed by the member before any payment.
Before any outing, each participant must meet the following conditions:
• Possess a valid driving license, authorizing the driving of the vehicle used during outings,
• Hold the vehicle registration document,
• Be insured for the vehicle, the driver and the passenger,
• Have an up-to-date technical inspection (if applicable).
• Be equipped with equipment consistent with motorcycle riding (approved helmet and gloves, jacket, etc.).
• Have a motorcycle that meets the manufacturer's standards, in perfect working order, particularly with regard to safety components. Each participant undertakes to check their vehicle and refuel before any outing.
For lap leaders and queue holders, it is recommended:
• To each have a retro-reflective vest. To be collected from the regional delegate before the departure of any walk.
• To each have a mobile phone in working order and available for the duration of the outing.
• To remind all participants of the safety instructions before each departure.
• To form groups of ten motorcycles maximum, if possible depending on the level of experience of the riders. Each group must be supervised by a tour leader and a lead clamp, both of whom have coordinated their GPS, in order to ensure a single route to follow for the entire group.
Each driver is required to respect the Highway Code. He is responsible for his own safety as well as that of his passenger. Neither WADA nor the organizer can be held responsible in the event of non-compliance with driving or safety rules by a driver or passenger. Group outings involve respecting certain rules of conduct, essential to the safety of everyone and the smooth running of the outings. Each participant must be equipped with equipment suitable for motorcycle riding. Everyone assumes their own responsibility and that of their insurance. Participants who are new to group riding are invited to report to the lap leader, who will position them just behind him.
Some principles to respect:
• This is a ride, not a race. The speed of the group must be respected by everyone.
• Each participant keeps their place in the group throughout the outing. Overtaking is prohibited.
• Only the supervising motorcycles (tour leader and queue runner) can overtake the group.
• Safety distances must be respected, while preventing the group from stretching excessively.
• When possible, adopt a staggered placement to reduce the risk of collision when braking.
• If you overtake a vehicle outside the group, quickly pull over and keep to the right to make it easier to overtake the following vehicles.
• Respect other road users and facilitate their passage.
• Respect the traffic lights, stop and give way, even if the previous one has passed. Use horn or headlight to signal a stop.
• Use the indicator for each change of direction and ensure that the maneuver is visible to the next person.
• Regularly check your mirrors to make sure the next one is visible. If absent, slow down until visual contact is re-established.
• Report any danger on the roadway (hole, gravel, oil, etc.) to the next person.
• Only stop in authorized and secure areas for the entire group.
• In the event of a stop, everyone restarts in the same place, unless otherwise instructed by the tour leader.
• In the event of an emergency stop of a member, the wire clamp is the only one to stop to provide assistance, while the group continues on its way.
• Before each stage, fill up with gasoline and check safety equipment (pressure, lights, etc.).
• Strictly respect the instructions of the organizers.
• Inform the organizers if you leave the group during the ride.
• The consumption of alcohol or substances that impair driving is strictly prohibited before and during AMA activities.
• The organizer may exclude any participant whose behavior compromises safety or does not comply with the values of the association.
Participating in an AMA activity means sharing a moment of conviviality while respecting others, the rules of the association and the spirit of mutual aid that unites us. The members of the Office, all volunteers, invest themselves with heart and enthusiasm to best meet the expectations of each member. If an outing or a service provider does not meet your expectations, we invite you to discuss it directly with the organizers. Caring dialogue helps us understand your needs and improve our business, much more effectively than reviews posted on social media or other public spaces. Certain obligations may engage the legal liability of the Bureau and its Presidency. This is why we always prioritize listening, respect and constructive exchange to find the best solutions together.
In the event of conflicts with one of its members or between members, the association will always favor mediation. The proposed mediation process highlights the possibility of discussing facts which do not respect the conditions of these regulations or the statutes. The objective is to enable members to amend their behavior with the support of other members during and after mediation. Before the mediation process, the office may decide, initially, to suspend the member concerned as a precautionary measure, in particular in order to protect the individuals.
Any member who:
• Does not respect the essential rules of the highway code, safety, group spirit, or who voluntarily ignores the instructions given by management,
• Makes comments contrary to the values of the association, as defined in article 5 of the statutes,
• Does not respect these internal regulations or the statutes of the association,
• Voluntarily consumes alcohol or any other substance that impairs one’s driving abilities,
• Adopts, within the framework of the association's activities, inappropriate or degrading behavior towards other members or towards outsiders (verbal, physical, sexual or sexist violence, discriminatory remarks, etc.),
• Harms, directly or indirectly, the image, activities, proper functioning or reputation of the association through an inappropriate attitude or behavior, may be convened by the listening and mediation commission, by decision of the office. If the situation requires it, a precautionary suspension may be decided, in order to protect the people concerned and to guarantee a calm climate within the group.
These rules also apply to any temporary member, who, in addition to respecting the driving instructions, must refrain from any comments or behavior contrary to the values of the AMA and the LGBTQIA+ movement (hateful, denigrating, discriminatory messages, etc.). The listening and mediation commission is made up of at least two members of the office and the regional delegate concerned.
The member will be invited to speak before the committee, in person or by videoconference, in order to explain the situation. He/she may, if he/she wishes, be accompanied by another member. The commission's decisions are taken in a spirit of consensus. If this is not possible, they will be validated by an absolute majority of the members present. The commission will transmit its decisions to the office, which will ensure their application. In the event of exclusion, a report, limited to the essential elements of the decision, will be sent to all members within the month following the meeting of the commission.
The sanctions are graduated and proportionate to the situation: 1. Warning with reminder of the rules 2. Temporary ban on participating in one or more outings 3. Temporary suspension of access to a position of tour leader or queue runner 4. Temporary suspension of access to a position of delegate or member of the office 5. Temporary exclusion from the association 6. Permanent removal without possibility of re-registration. In the event of cancellation, no contribution will be refunded. The member must also return without delay any material or element belonging to the association.
Decision principles:
• The decisions of the commission are irrevocable.
• The same act cannot result in two sanctions.
• In the event of a repeat offense, the commission will take into account the history of sanctions, without however this liability becoming the determining element of the new decision.
WADA's official participation in the Pride Marches is subject to the prior approval of the Bureau and the regional delegate. Their decision is based on an assessment of the militant nature of the event as well as on the forecast budgetary elements provided by the organizers. Before any participation, AMA asks to be able to negotiate the conditions of presence for all members wishing to parade on motorcycles. The association may, after validation by the Office, cover all or part of the costs related to participation in the Pride March. Apart from this formal agreement, everyone remains free to participate in a Pride March in a personal capacity, including by wearing distinctive signs of the AMA (t-shirt, lanyard, etc.). However, in this context, the use of banners, pennants or any official mention of the AMA (on the lists of organizers or participants) is not authorized.
The AMA is based on essential values: LGBTQIA+ commitment, diversity and conviviality. All organized activities, whether motorcycling or not, are primarily in line with these principles. The participation of members of other structures in AMA events is possible, but it requires formal membership of the structure concerned, accompanied by the payment of a contribution. This requirement guarantees respect for the rights of dues-paying members of the AMA. Any delegate or organizer wishing to involve the AMA in a joint project with another structure, particularly if the latter is not associative, or does not clearly fall within the biker and/or LGBTQIA+ field, is asked to contact the Office before committing. This rule does not apply to clubs affiliated with the GLME, nor to people interested in a first discovery of AMA, who can participate in certain activities under the conditions provided for in article 7 bis of the statutes.
The AMA, as a 1901 law association, is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when it processes personal data, which is the case for its members. As such, it may be subject to controls and sanctions in the event of non-compliance. A data processing register has been set up in order to identify and list all the data processed by the association.
This register makes it possible to map the information collected and guarantee responsible management. People joining the AMA, or renewing their membership, are systematically informed of the data collected about them. In particular, they have a right to erasure and a right to be forgotten, in accordance with Article 17 of the GDPR. Each member of the association, whether he or she is permanent or temporary, undertakes not to disclose personal information concerning other members without their explicit consent. The data collected during membership is subject to secure computer processing.
Only the following people have access to it:
• The President of the association
• The Administrative Secretary
• The Internal Secretary
• The Treasurer
• Webmasters
• The regional delegate of the member concerned
In the spirit of conviviality, members are invited to add a profile photo to the ama-moto.com site, without this being obligatory. These profiles can only be viewed by members, via the secure area of the site. Each member can modify or delete their profile photo at any time. Photos taken during AMA events can be shared and viewed in the members-only area of the ama-moto.com website. Some can be used for internal communications, only accessible to members of the association. These photos are not subject to any public distribution, and no identifiable image of a member is published on the public website or on any other external communication medium. Any member can request the removal of a photo upon simple request (by email or via the contact form), indicating the date of the event concerned and the link to the photo to be deleted.
It is strictly prohibited to disclose the personal contact details (email address, telephone number, nickname, etc.) of a member without their written authorization. Any use for commercial purposes, canvassing or prospecting is prohibited. The people designated by the Office to run the communication spaces (site, social networks, etc.) undertake to respect a charter for the protection of image rights. For any request to modify or delete information or photos on the social networks managed by the AMA, you can contact: secretaireprincipal@ama-moto.com
• Registration for a focus group must be voluntary. It is possible to ask a member to participate, but under no circumstances can he or she be added without their explicit consent.
• The personal choice not to use social networks or not to own a mobile phone must be fully respected.
• A delegate can create a communication group external to the private space of the ama-moto.com site. However, the official website remains the only channel recognized for the dissemination of internal information of the association. Important information must be updated there as a priority. The AMA declines all responsibility for the dissemination of personal data outside its official website ama-moto.com. Please note that, unlike information hosted on the secure site, data and images exchanged via messaging groups (WhatsApp, etc.) are not protected. The sharing of any photo must obtain the prior consent of the recognizable people appearing in these images.
The modifications made to these internal regulations were voted unanimously and adopted during the General Assembly by all the members present.
