AMA — Association Motocycliste Alternative — brings together LGBTQIA+ riders and sympathizers around motorcycling. The purpose is set in article 5 of the statutes. The four aims in article 5 are: « Regrouper les motards et motardes LGBTQIA+ et sympathisants autour de la pratique de la moto » ; « Organiser des sorties, rassemblements, moments de convivialité et événements motocyclistes » ; « Lutter contre les discriminations liées à l'orientation sexuelle, l'identité ou l'expression de genre » ; « Soutenir le mouvement LGBTQIA+ et promouvoir la visibilité de l'association ». AMA does not add a fifth aim. The LGBTQIA+ identity and the year 1984 are not that purpose. Riders and passengers, newcomers and experienced people, have a place. Article 7.2 opens a one-day temporary membership before an annual join. A gift, provided in article 9, is not dues. AMA is an association, not a federation. AMA and GLME stay as the public texts write them.
Article 5 unfolds as eight activities, in this order. First: gather around motorcycle riding — welcome and create ties, including help to break isolation. Second: outings, held with the road safety of public advice, on routes chosen by the association. Third: gatherings, camps and motorcycling meetups. Fourth: convivial moments, over a drink or a meal. Fifth: motorcycling events, including Pride marches in France. Sixth: « Lutter contre les discriminations liées à l'orientation sexuelle, l'identité ou l'expression de genre » — defence against discrimination and promotion of the rights of LGBTQIA+ riders and sympathizers, within article 5. Seventh: support the LGBTQIA+ movement, including holding out a hand to inclusive LGBTQIA+ motorcycle associations in each EU country, to grow together alongside GLME. Eighth: the association's visibility, attached to the same Pride work. These eight activities form the statutory purpose; they are distinct from the four support pillars and the Charter and SDG frame. Article 7.2 opens a trial day before annual membership.
AMA, founded in 1984, presents as an LGBTQIA+ motorcycle association open to sympathizers. It is the French association of GLME, a European federation founded in 1989; European camps can be joined later, if you wish. Article 3 of the statutes names a predecessor: AMICALE MOTOCYCLISTE AVIGNONNAISE, declared on 10 October 1977 in the Vaucluse. The 1977 declaration describes the Avignon predecessor; 1984 is the date kept on Home and in public identity. AMA remains a 1901-law association, declared at prefecture level and governed by its statutes. Articles 5 and 6 of the 1901 act describe legal capacity after declaration. The registered office is 11 rue Trigance, 13002 Marseille. RNA W133004033. SIREN 847515186000117. Outings and camps are organised from Marseille and wherever members ride in France and Europe.
Home shows a membership figure calculated from the database at the moment of viewing. That figure changes when a membership is recorded. It describes the living state of registrations. It is not a rate. It does not open a membership. AMA, founded in 1984, remains an association. It is the French association of GLME. Those public affiliations do not replace a first local outing. They do not publish a number of regions. They do not publish a number of Pride marches. They do not publish a rate. The registered office is 11 rue Trigance, 13002 Marseille. RNA W133004033. SIREN 847515186000117. AMA and GLME stay as the public texts write them. Membership follows article 7.1. A day under article 7.2 remains possible before you decide. Amounts are settled at registration, at Join. A gift, provided in article 9, is not dues and does not enter that figure.
Four pillars describe values of support around motorcycling. First: inclusive — LGBTQIA+ riders and sympathizers are welcome on outings and at meetups. Second: no discrimination — AMA defends equality and promotes welcome. Third: road safety — outings put safety before performance so everyone gets home. Fourth: try first — article 7.2 opens a day before annual membership. These pillars accompany the eight activities in article 5; they remain distinct from the Charter and SDG frame. Defence and promotion concern LGBTQIA+ riders and sympathizers, within article 5.
AMA aligns its values and organisation with the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (2030 Agenda), within the statutory purpose (article 5), referring in particular to SDGs 5 (gender equality), 10 (reduced inequalities) and 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions). AMA takes part in and contributes to organising Pride marches, in mainland France and rural areas, in as many regions of France as possible. Official presence is decided by the association; personal presence without official banners remains possible. A ColognePride photo illustrates inclusion visually. The invitation to inclusive LGBTQIA+ motorcycle associations in each EU country aims to grow together, alongside GLME.
